Recently, we have heard some news about Huawei’s upcoming tablet – MediaPad M6. To take it further, a reliable Weibo user confirms that the device is on the way and will hit the market soon. It will worth noting that more then one year has passed since the MediaPad M5 was announced in February 2018.
Speaking to the specs, last month, XDA editor Mishaal Rahman disclosed some important information regarding Huawei’s M6 series. A device with codename RSN-AL00/W09 or VRD-AL09/W09/X9/Z00 (should be the same device for different markets) to adopt 8.4-inch 1600 x 2560 pixels display, whereas, the bigger SCM-AL09/W09/Z00 to arrive with 10.7-inch 1600 x 2560 screen size similar to their predecessors. Mr. Mishaal Rahman further revealed their batteries. The smaller 8.4″ variant to pack a 4,200 mAh battery, which goes up to 7,500 mAh for the bigger 10.7″. When it comes to optics, the M6 series to have a 13MP rear and 8MP selfie camera, confirmed by the same source.
Upcoming Huawei/Honor Kirin 980 flagship devices:
* RSN & VRD – 8.4" 1600×2560
* SCM – 10.7" 1600×2560
* SEA – 6.39" 1080×2340
* YAL – 6.26" 1080×2340
* YALZX – ?I believe the Mate X is "Tahiti." Some weird stuff going on with it, but the display specs match it.

Last year’s Mediapad M5 also using identical display size, but a big boost for M6 in terms of processing power. Both variants of M5 series are powered by the company’s self-made Kirin 960 processor coupled with Mali-G71, 4GB RAM, up to 128GB of internal storage, 13MP rear and 8MP front cameras, 7,500 mAh battery for M5 10 and 5,100 mAh for M5 8, EMUI 8 based Android Oreo operating system and premium aluminum crafted body. It will be interesting to see that on which price point the company launch these devices because Apple is giving a hard time with its “iPad” series even in their home market China.
