Redmi K30 5G gets approval for 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant

Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi K30 smartphone in China. The handset comes in both 4G and 5G variants with different processors. Initially, the Redmi K30 5G top variant was introduced with 8GB RAM and 256GB of built-in storage, which can be further expanded via Micro SD slot. But now another variant of K30 5G gets approval from Chinese telecom authority TEENA with whopping 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. It means the company may launch a higher storage & RAM variant in the near future.

Talking of other specs, Redmi K30 packs 6.67-inch 1080 x 2340 pixels IPS LCD display. Due to the lack of AMOLED panel, the fingerprint sensor has been shifted to the side on the power key. The 5G variant uses the latest Snapdragon 765G chipset coupled with Adreno 620 GPU. There is another 4G variant with relatively older Snapdragon 730G SoC having slightly weaker Adreno 618 GPU. These devices boast four cameras on the back with 64MP, f/1.89 Sony IMX686 primary sensor. The front side gets a dual 20MP + 2MP dual punch-hole camera.

Moreover, the handset packs 4500 mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support. It runs on the latest Android 10 operating system on the top of the MIUI 11 custom user interface. The device is crafted with full glass design protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and rear. As for availability, the Redmi 4G variant is already up for sale in China, while, 5G variant will start selling from January 2020.
