Samsung is potentially engaged with a new argument reality project to enhance the technology further. A new patent filed to US Patent and Trademark Office discloses that the company is working a new pair of foldable AR glasses as per shown in provided images. The application was originally filed on January 2, 2019, which, officially published to the website on July 11, 2019.
It can be seen that these glasses do not require additional equipment for performance assistance. The design is like ordinary sunglasses, totally opposite to other AR headsets those fully wraps the head. The middle area of the screen mirror is equipped with a translucent lens, that suggests likely using a waveguide to diffract the projection in a way to convey 3D depth. When the glasses are folded, the power can be automatically turned off and on by the frames. Overall, the design of these glasses is very interesting and should be more comfortable to hold than the typical AR headsets.
